Standards Based Grading

Standards-based grading is an intentional way for teachers to track each student’s progress and achievements, based on proficiency levels for identified standards, with a focus on growth. Instead of assigning letter or number grades, The Expedition School’s standards-based approach to grading provides explanations of and measures proficiency in the concepts and material that students should know at each point in their education.

Research shows that a standards-based mindset paired with standards-based grading correlate to higher academic achievement.
