Tym "Coach" Cleve
PE Teacher
Tym Cleve has been with us since opening day 2014 and absolutely LOVES TES. Not only is he our PE teacher, but he also runs our safety patrol program, greeting all our students each morning with a smile and trying to get their day started off right. His goal as our PE teacher is to make health, nutrition and fitness fun and engaging for all our students as well as helping them learn how to stay active and fit for life-long health and wellness. Tym holds an undergraduate degree from Elon University in Health and Physical Education with minor focus on Exercise Sports Science, Coaching and Religious Studies. He has also coached varsity baseball, basketball and middle school tennis for many years. Tym has a wonderful, amazing and supportive partner, Nitya Fiorentino who works at the library. They both love TES and the school community. Tym adores the family they raise together with her two amazing children, both students here at TES. Zeke is in 7th grade and Virani is in 5th. He also has three grown children, and 5 grandchildren that he loves to spoil. Tym is committed to our education model and devotes himself each day to the betterment of all our students education. TES ROCKS!

Hillary Griffin
Music Teacher/Upper School TA
Hillary Griffin joined TES in the Spring of 2025 as our Upper School Teaching Assistant. This year she will continue serving in this role, along with teaching music to our Kindergarten through Fourth Grade students in the afternoons. Ms. Griffin graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with a degree in music education and taught middle school chorus and elementary music in the past. She also spent years working in office management. This new role joins her talents and abilities in a way she enjoys! She currently lives in Mebane with her husband, son, and crazy little dog. She is excited to have the opportunity to work with all ages here at TES.
Miguel Hernández
STEM Teacher
Miguel Hernandez, originally hailing from Colombia, brings a diverse perspective to his role as a STEM educator. With a background in teaching philosophy and ethics, he has seamlessly transitioned into the world of science and technology education. Miguel's true passion lies in the classroom, where he not only imparts knowledge but also cherishes being an active member of the school community. Outside of his teaching duties, you'll find him exploring the great outdoors, whether it's hiking along the scenic trails or embarking on bike rides that allow him to reconnect with nature.
Ginger Lipscomb
Electives Teacher
Ginger was born and raised in Southwest Missouri at the edge of the Ozark Mountains. She moved to Hillsborough 24 years ago and is proud to call NC her home! She has been at TES in various roles since 2016, and her daughter went to TES from the very beginning of the school. While working at TES as a Teacher's Assistant, she earned a BA in Family and Consumer Sciences and is currently licensed in this subject for grades 6-12. She loves the TES community and teaching students real-life practical skills with a side of Fiber Arts. When she is not at TES, she runs her own sewing school, Thread Your Path, and works as a Studio Artist and Lead Seamstress at Paperhand Puppet Intervention. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with her husband and 3 (almost) adult children, cats, dog, cows, friends, and making anything she can think of from discarded textiles.
Alivia Salvagni
Art Teacher
Alivia Salvagni is the art teacher at TES. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Visual Art Education from Roberts Wesleyan University and loves helping students explore creativity through hands-on projects and different artistic mediums. Along with teaching art, she also coaches soccer. Outside of school, you can find her hanging out with her dog, tending to her plants, and trying new restaurants.
Marian Adamson
Teacher - Lego Robotics
Marian Adamson started with a love of physics and engineering in high school which she used to get a BS in Physics from Brigham Young University and a MS in Biomedical Engineering from University of Michigan. Following these years, she focused on children and their activities, such as volunteering in music and class instruction at her church, as cubmaster in a Cub Scouts Pack, and as a mother of 5 children. She is a coach and coordinator for the TES Robotics team and enjoys the robots as much as the team members do! She loves playing with legos and robots in class and seeing her children at school.
