Tammy FinchTammy Finch 

Director of Education and Curriculum

Tammy Finch is the founding director of The Expedition School, which opened in 2014. She always dreamed of creating a school where students encounter authentic learning experiences through projects. Mrs. Finch is a National Board Certified Teacher with over thirty years of experience in education. She holds a Master's in Teaching. She is trained in the Responsive Classroom methodology and Charter School Leadership and is a Leverage Leadership graduate with multiple "Proof Point" awards for leading a school with excellent student achievement. She holds current NC teacher certification in Elementary Education, English and Gifted Education. The rare moments when Mrs. Finch is not working tirelessly for the school, she enjoys hiking and exploring the natural world. Mrs. Finch lives in Mebane with her husband David. She has two sons, one which graduated from 8th grade at TES.

Director of Business and Operations

Cody serves as our Director of Operations and brings a heart for service and community with him. After spending thirteen years as a firefighter, Cody transitioned into education, where he previously served as Director to an elementary school. He holds a degree in Public Administration and is passionate about supporting students, families, and staff in meaningful ways. Cody is married to his amazing wife, Britnye, and together they are raising their two incredible children Nola Mae and Hendricks. Their family lives on a farm with barns full of friendly animals. They love spending time outdoors and working together on Lego sets. 


Julie McCauleyJulie McCauley

EC Director
 

Julie McCauley is exited to jump into her 8th year at TES as the EC Director. She was previously at UNC where she was an educational consultant on an Autism project, coaching teams around the state on implementing evidence-based practices for students on the Autism Spectrum. She has 19 years of experience as a Special Education Teacher and Behavioral Interventionist/Counselor in grades Pre-K through 8th grade. Julie is a National Board Certified Teacher, received her Bachelor's from Coastal Carolina University, and her Master's in Special Education from Grand Canyon University. She lives in Mebane with her husband and their three children. She is committed to working closely with staff, students and their families, in order to collaboratively support student growth in all areas.
