12/18/25
Today we had a very high number of students in grades 7 and 8 absent due to confirmed flu and flu-like illness. Out of abundance of caution, grades 7 and 8 will shift to a remote learning day for Friday, December 19. No 7th or 8th grade student is to attend school in person. Rather, they remain home and complete remote learning as outlined below.
This decision is intended to:
- Reduce further spread of illness among students and staff
- Support students who are currently ill in resting and recovering.
- Allow families time to monitor symptoms as we head into winter break
Remote Learning Plan for Friday 12/19/25 (7th and 8th grade only):
- To be marked as “present” students must log in to their google classrooms for all 4 core classes. (They do NOT need to log in for specials or morning meeting)
- To be marked as present students must ALSO complete posted assignments by 3:15 PM on Friday 12/19/25.
Students who do not complete the above will be marked as absent. Students MAY have an excused absence on 12/19/25 for a legal reason such as illness. Student illness must be documented with an e-mail to [email protected] on the date of illness (12/19/25) for this particular occurrence due to the remote learning, in order to be marked as excused. Reminder: When students are absent, they are still responsible for completing all assignments. Students who are absent must complete assignments and turn them in by Tuesday, January 6th.
This notice applies to 7th and 8th grade ONLY and not any other grades.
