Tammy Finch

Director of Education and Curriculum

Tammy Finch’s dream of having a school where students encounter authentic learning experiences continues! Mrs. Finch is a National Board Certified Teacher with over twenty years experience in education. She holds a Master’s in Teaching.  She is trained in the Responsive Classroom methodology and Charter School Leadership and holds current NC teacher certification in Elementary Education, English and Gifted Education. The rare moments when she is not working tirelessly for the school, she enjoys hiking and exploring the natural world. Mrs. Finch lives in Mebane with her husband David and their two sons Brian and Brandon.

Patricia Brummitt

Director of Business and Operations

Entering her fifth year as Director of Business and Operations, Patricia Brummitt aims to foster a positive school culture where children are safe and engaged, staff are supported and the school is running as smoothly as possible. She holds a Master’s of Curriculum & Instruction from NC State and has also been trained in Charter School & Financial Leadership. She draws on her experiences as an educator, business owner, charter school board member and parent to help TES become a model for success in education. When she is not working, Patricia enjoys music, cooking and spending time with her husband and two sons.

Jessica Roney

Student Services Coordinator

Addressing big worries, small worries, and all things in-between, Jessie supports student needs and connects families with resources through the implementation of a comprehensive school counseling framework. Jessie is trained from a strengths-based approach to support academic, social/emotional, and college/career goals. In addition to being School Counselor, Jessie also wears the hats of 504 Coordinator and Testing Coordinator here at TES. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s of Education in School Counseling from UNC-Chapel Hill. Outside of school you’ll find Jessie curled up with a good book and her cats.    

Nicole Splenda

School Nurse and Reception

As TES’ nurse and receptionist, Nicole “Nurse” Splenda loves the unpredictability of every day where she serves and attends to the various needs of students, parents and staff. She has worked as a RN for over ten years mainly in Maternal & Child Health assisting birthing babies into the world.  In addition to her work at TES, she runs a small business in Chapel Hill that supports women through holistic services.  She loves spending time at home with her husband Jot and three children Caden, Ty and Noelle. She also loves traveling, music, camping and any reason to visit the beach.

Alison Quillin

School Nurse and Reception

As the nurse and receptionist, Alison enjoys attending to the health and well being of the students, staff, and parents of TES. Her career as an RN has afforded her the opportunity to serve a myriad of people in various stages of life. Along with her duties at TES, she works as a Clinical Coordinator RN at a facility for Residential Services, Inc. There she provides care to the live-in residents and oversees their caretakers. Outside of work, she loves spending time with her family, time in the mountains and at the beach, and going to a great live show.

Stacey Carbre

Administrative Specialist

As Administrative Specialist, Stacey Carbre serves all school staff, students and parents in multiple ways, including securing substitute teachers, overseeing Power School (state-wide computer system), helping with reception duties including the nursing department and whatever needs doing to contribute to an effective TES school day. Her career has included many years in social work, leadership in non-profit mentoring, administrative work and ownership in a small business. Stacey loves spending time with her family and friends, going to the beach, mountains, traveling, playing cards, attending concerts and reading.

Kristin Lampe

Instructional Coach

As the instructional coach at TES, Kristin Lampe’s role is to collaborate with teachers to continuously grow and improve their classroom instruction. She has had previous experience supporting teachers throughout North Carolina in literacy strategies, STEM-focused science instruction, and project-based learning. She taught for 8 years in a high school in western NC and was even a nurse for several years. Kristin’s more recent pursuits include run/ walk, music, traveling and caring for her cat Mouse.

Julie McCauley

EC Director/Teacher

Julie McCauley is excited to be joining TES as the new EC Director/ Teacher. She comes from UNC where she was an educational consultant on an Autism project, coaching teams around the state on implementing evidence- based practices for students on the Autism Spectrum. She has 12 years of experience as a Special Education Teacher and Behavioral Interventionist/ Counselor in grades Pre-K through 8th grade. Julie is National Board Certified, got her Bachelor’s from Coastal Carolina University, and her Master’s in Special Education from Grand Canyon University. She lives in Mebane with her husband and their three children (all of whom will be attending TES this year!). She is looking forward to working closely with the staff, students, and their families, in order to collaboratively support student growth in all areas.

Sally Whitaker

Talent Strategy & Support Associate

Sally Whitaker provides administrative support for the Director of Education and Curriculum, working in human resources, professional development tracking for staff and other various tasks. She grew up in Nova Scotia, Canada and moved to NC twenty years ago to teach middle school math in Roxboro. She met and married Tony in 2004 and received her US citizenship in 2013. Sally enjoys spending time with her family and friends, curling, winning at cards and still loves all things Canadian.
